Andreas is a PhD student in the Cryptography and Privacy Engineering Group at TU Darmstadt. Their research focuses on Secure Multi-Party Computation (MPC) which is a subarea from cryptography that enables multiple parties to process their joint data, gaining new information without need of disclosing any input data to each other. Past works mainly focus on improving the efficiency of MPC by designing and implementing novel MPC protocols and building blocks. Further interests include MPC for privacy-preserving machine learning, application of MPC for public utility, interplay between cryptographic techniques and regulations, and the use of discrete optimization in and for MPC. Prior to their PhD studies, Andreas studied computer science with a focus on IT security and theoretical computer science at RWTH Aachen where they got their Bachelor's and Master's degree.
