Dr. Jawad Haqbeen is a program-specific assistant professor at Kyoto University, Japan. He received M.S. and Ph.D. in Computer Science from Waseda University and Nagoya Institute of Technology in 2013 and 2022, respectively. His current research interests lie in human-agent interaction, multi-agent systems, experimental user behavior studies, collective intelligence, and applying artificial intelligence to civic technologies. He is the author/co-author of over 30 international conference proceedings papers and more than eight journal articles. He received the Best International Paper Award in IEEE/ACIS BCD 2024, Excellent Paper Award in KICSS 2023, Excellence Paper Award in JSAI 2023, Best Presentation Award in KICSS 2021, IBM Award of Scientific Excellence in PAAMS 2020, Best Paper Award in KICSS 2020, and IEEE Nagoya Section Best Research Presentation Award in 2018. He is a member of the Japan Society of Artificial Intelligence (JSAI), the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE), the IEEE Computer Society, the IEEE Young Professionals, and the Digital Government Research Society (DGO). He is the principal investigator (PI) of the Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) Grant-in-Aid for Early-Career Scientists Project (No. 23K17164), a participating member of Japan Science & Technology Agency (JST) Core Research for Evolutionary Science and Technology (CREST) Project (No. JPMJCR20D1), and participating member of JST Strategic International Collaborative Research Program (SICORP) project.
